Suzuki showcased the near production model of the iV-4 SUV concept at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. This upcoming SUV’s concept model has impressed the world’s audience at the motor show and is already very much talked about. Back in India, where Maruti Suzuki is expected to bring new compact SUV models, the company’s aficionados are eagerly waiting for the iV-4 to arrive apart from the highly awaited XA Alpha compact SUV.
The Suzuki iV-4’s ‘i’ stands for individuality, the ‘V’ represents ‘vehicle’ and the ‘4’ is the indicator of the vehicle’s all 4 wheel drive system. The fully developed model is scheduled to hit the market sometime in the year 2015 to lock its horns with several contenders in the international as well as in the Indian car markets. The iV-4’s rivals include the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Renault Duster, the newly launched Ford EcoSport, and the upcoming compact SUV from Hyundai.
As for its exteriors looks, the iV-4 has flaunted its rather swanky and sleek design to wow the car enthusiast of the world. The showcased its bold lines and flowing design that gives an overall contemporary visual appeal that is aggressive and sophisticated at the same time. The concept model showed of a brilliant turquoise color that added to its stunning looks. The car’s front fascia was seen sporting a five slotted aggressively styled front grill, a sleek and stylish clamshell hood and bright fog lights which have built in laser sensors mounted on the roof. The model also showcased unique alloy wheels with turquoise body paint on them. The iV-4 SUV is 4215 mm long and 1850 mm wide with a wheel base of 2500 mm.
A video of the Suzuki iV-4 SUV also showed a brilliant orange paint job along with a contrasting black roof which also looked stunning as its turquoise counterpart. Both the turquoise and the orange-black combination body paint options are expected to make way into the final production model to entice the auto lovers further.
Suzuki has boasted that the brilliant upcoming iV-4 SUV will also come along with lowest C2O emissions in its class and thus will also be greener than its rivals in its class. The SUV will also be bestowed with Suzuki’s powerful 2nd generation all 4 Wheel Drive technology, which is known as the ALLGRIP. The Suzuki iV-4 SUV’s production model will be churned out from the Japanese car major’s manufacturing facility at Magyar in Hungary. This same car plant is also responsible for churning out the European spec Swift and Ritz vehicles.
For the Indian car market, Suzuki’s Indian subsidiary, Maruti Suzuki is known to be busily working to bring in compact SUV model to compete in the highly potential segment in India. The one certain mini SUV model that is slotted for India is the XA Alpha. And now, it is also known that the company has plans to bring in the iV-4 SUV in the Indian market, most probably shortly after its launch in the European markets.
