Maruti Suzuki has got heartwarming response from the Indian car consumers for its efficient and spacious Ertiga MPV. Maruti was so elated by the market response that it did not wait long to introduce this India made MPV in the car market of Indonesia, where large and luxurious cars are a big hit. Thus, the made in India Suzuki Ertiga made its appearance in Indonesia and instantly won over the Indonesian consumers. Being one of the most selling cars in Indonesia, the Ertiga has been making the leading cars, the Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia sweat to retain their position.
The Ertiga crossover MPV is fully manufactured in India and is sent to the Indonesian market as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) units. Now, the Suzuki Ertiga is the 4th bestselling vehicle in Indonesia, while it is the top most selling car in Suzuki’s product portfolio in Indonesia in the first half of the current year.
Maruti Suzuki has presented the Ertiga Feliz in India to encourage the Indian consumers. Similarly to strengthen its assault on the leading rivals, Suzuki decided to launch a special edition of the Ertiga, known as the Elegant. The Suzuki Ertiga Elegant has been unveiled in Indonesia and it is expected to boost its charm and popularity that is already evident in the consumers.
The Ertiga Elegant edition has been developed based on the GX model trim of the MPV. The exterior of the car sports a snazzier look with a lot of new additions including side moldings, side skirting, rear roof spoiler, exhaust extension along with loads of chrome finish decorations and the prominent ‘Elegant’ logo on the vehicle’s tail gate.
The interior of the new Ertiga Elegant remains the as it was, except the added leather upholstery that is already available as an optional feature in other higher model trims of the Ertiga. Overall, as far as the exterior looks and features are concerned, again the Suzuki Ertiga Elegant is very similar to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Feliz. This new launch in the Indonesian car market is supposed to fetch hiked up sales volumes for the Japanese car major and also may help in giving the Ertiga an even better positioning in the market.
Under the hood, the Suzuki Ertiga MPV in the Indonesian car market is powered by the 1.4 liter K-Series petrol engine. The engine is coupled with either a 5 speed manual transmission or a 4 speed automatic transmission gearbox.
This classy and efficient MPV is very popular among the Indonesian populace and the Demand for the vehicle is on the rise. Thus, in order to cater to the increasing demand for the Ertiga, Suzuki has increased the production capacity of its East Bekasi car factory to assemble 7,000 units of Ertiga per month.
The Suzuki Ertiga Elegant is priced 10 million rupiah (approximately Rs. 59,480) more than the GX model of the regular Ertiga. Suzuki has thus, presented a more premium and a further aggressively styled Ertiga in the form of the Elegant edition.
