Pressed by the rising market competition and to handle the slowdown stricken auto industry of India, the country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki is working full swing on bringing in a whole host of new cars. Earlier Maruti was going rather slow to introduce new models and was just showering special edition models and a lot of cash discounts to lure in customers. But soon the auto leader felt the peer pressure as its global auto rivals are on a spree to launch new cars targeting the bestselling Maruti cars. Thus, Maruti seems to hasten in its new releases in India.
As a glowing example of Maruti’s increased focus on new models is the new Stingray hatchback that has already been introduced with a starting tag of Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Earlier thought to come later this year with no more new models, the Stingray has proved all the speculations to be wrong by immerging earlier. This hatchback’s introduction is expected to be followed by the launch of a new refreshed Swift and then the replacement of the SX4, the YL1 sedan is set to debut. This still codenamed YL1 sedan car was caught testing on the roads recently without any camouflage. Thus, the car’s interiors coulThis un-camouflaged appearance of the YL1 sedan also hints that the car’s launch in India is apparent and it will make sooner appearance than expected.d be spied on with detailed pictures.
These new spy pictures reveal that the YL1 sedan will flaunt a beige and black dual color interior theme along with some stylish and classy faux wood inserts meant for the top trim model. These new spy shots of the YL1 sedan’s interior reveal that it is very much similar to expensive and premium Kizashi sedan that is very hard to get on the Indian roads.
The YL1 boasts of a power steering wheel that has the audio controls mounted on it. The car also features dashboard panels and gauge cluster that seem to have been borrowed from the Kizashi. However, this SX4 replacement model has a lot of individual and new features as well, including a brand new music system with a color display and is has AUX and USB options. Other expected features include a rake adjustment system for steering wheel, all 4 power windows, internal mirror adjustment and chrome finished door handles and strips for the AC vents.
The spy pictures are supposed to be of the top trim model of the YL1 and the model will be hitting the roads with exclusive alloy wheels that look closely similar to the ones that are already present on the new SX4 S-Cross.
The ongoing SX4 Sedan witnessed only a short lived success in the Indian car market after which it had lost its charm. At present this sedan is a very low selling car in Maruti’s portfolio, thus it is a good decision on the Indo-Japanese car maker’s part to bring in a replacement of the SX4, though the name might be kept on this new car.
