Maruti Suzuki is working on a string of new launches, the YL1 is one of them, and this car is built to replace Sx4 which is moving at snail pace in the present market. Ardent car enthusiasts believe that the car will launch next year. For an interesting piece of information, the YL1 sedan design is identical to the concept model unveiled in one of the auto shows called Authentics in terms of exteriors and interiors.
The new sedan will be built on the same patterns as Maruti Suzuki Ertiga which is one of the most popular cars in the multipurpose vehicle segment and has won several awards in the family car segment as well. Some interesting piece of information for Ertiga fans is the car will possess an identical 1.3 liter diesel mill with MultiJet technology that churns impressive efficiencies of 89 Bhp highest power and 200 Nm peak torque or the 1.4 liter petrol mill with advanced K series technology releases 94 Bhp power and130 Nm torque which is also inserted in Swift hatch and Swift Dzire sedan. The YL1 will be a striking resemblance to Ertiga and SX4 in terms of features. The car will emerge with thrilling interior features with premium leather cushions, puddle lights, keyless entry, and push star button and so on. For a smooth maneuvering experience the alloy wheels have an admirable fifteen inch dimension.
The launch of YL1 will result in cut-throat competition with some of the best sellers in India such as Volkswagen Vento and Hyundai Verna, the most interesting part is the car will be reasonably priced at less than Rs 10 lakh. Those who have been following up on new launches of Maruti Suzuki will be aware that the company aims to introduce around two to three new Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV’s) a few years from now, and there was news on the release on one SUV that would be crossover version of Sx4.
A top company official from Maruti Suzuki stated that,’’ the company is keen to expand the SUV segment, and keen to witness an increased share market growth of 3 to 4% when SUV’s are launched. This is the swiftest expanding sectors at present and contributes significant growths of 21%, and the firm now needs to focus on this segment to acquire remarkable profits.’’
According to sources the style quotient of the car is known to be highly refined, the grille in front is amazingly decorated with artistic elements of chrome, the head lights are derived from iconic Mercedes Benz E Class design. In terms of dimension, the car is known to resemble the Vento; with respect to cabin it resembles other classy Maruti models particularly with switches and dashboard. The top segment of the car is identical to Swift Dzire with a professional black theme. The lower compartment is designed with a unique and aesthetic beige shade. The sufficient interior room is contributed by floor bulge at rear which can now accommodate as many as five occupants. Some of the other exciting interior features are multi information devise and instrument cluster. As mentioned the car is priced to cater to the mass in India at Rs 7 to 9lakhs.
The YL1 would indeed be an interesting launch with its remarkable interior, exterior and engine features and would be sold in dozens with its stiff competitors.
