Swift is no doubt the most successful model from Maruti Suzuki which was first introduced into the Indian markets in the year 2004. After that there was a revision in the edition with the second generation being introduced to the markets in 2010 and the next one in 2011. The Maruti Swift has remarkably made its mark in the premium hatchback segment with millions of their cars rolling out into the market. The diesel version Swift DDiS has indeed turned over the apprehensions of the market analysts regarding its success with many people willing to wait for their turn to get hold of the vehicle. Now news is out that the Next Generation Swift shall be launched into the market in the year 2016 as quoted by an Italian website. As the company usually takes longer gaps before refreshing their models we can anticipate a New Generation car from their kitty that might have all the latest features and some also expect it to be a hybrid model along with the petrol and diesel variants.
Though there were not many technical details available about Next Generation Swift, experts imagine that designing elements may be inspired from the S-cross concepts giving the new gen Swift a more premium and aggressive look. Suzuki also would definitely like to retain their characteristic traits that are carried in every model of Suzuki as a signature style.
Honda Jazz was initially present in the Indian markets way back in 2009 launched with a 1.2liter i-VTEC petrol engine in the hatchback segment that enjoyed a good market until the petrol prices were on the rise and the company had to literally cut down its price tag to remain in the market. However it didn’t work out for Honda Jazz at that time and they are now once again entering into the Indian markets with the new 2014 Honda Jazz model that has already been launched in the Japan market. Honda known for its elegant models is now coming up with 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine and also a petrol variant with a 1.2L engine. The model was developed based on the Quasi-MVP-hatch dimensions just like their earlier version. The exterior comes with strikingly bold design with deep lines running from the front wheel to the rear end and an upward kink line on the bottom running on both the door panels. The alloy wheel is designed in true fashion and also the chrome stripe on the rear-windshield adds beauty to the car. The headlamps and tail lamps are also designed newly adding to the refreshing look of the car.
The interiors are very spacious with top class upholstery and the steering wheel with three spokes and a dash board that has been redesigned with an angular concept giving away on its old model.
So with both Next Generation Swift and 2014 Honda Jazz making key changes in their design and features we have to see which one wins the buyers hearts to become the market leaders in the premier hatchback segment.
