The Japanese car major, Suzuki has recently given a slight makeover to its popular premium hatchback Swift. The new Suzuki Swift retains its overall design and its powertrain remains unchanged as well, but the car gets to have some mild cosmetic changes to perk up its exterior looks. For instance, the revamped Suzuki Swift has got freshly designed fog lamp enclosures with LED daytime running lights and it also gets a new design for its alloy wheels.
Following the Suzuki Swift in the international car markets, the Indian Maruti Suzuki Swift is also expected to get a mild refresh very soon displaying similar features. Maruti has already been launching a whole lot of new variants, special edition and limited edition models in India to beat the slowdown. Now, it is time that the Indo-Japanese car maker also presents freshly updated car models along with the new models that the company is bracing up for. The company is also set to bring in the next generation models for its SX4 sedan and A-Star hatchback apart from an upcoming diesel variant of the WagonR.
With the Indian Maruti Suzuki Swift expected to get a fresh update soon enough, another fact comes naturally into one’s mind. If Swift gets a refresh, how can the Dzire stay behind? This is because the Swift and the Swift Dzire are very similar cars, as the Desire sedan is developed by using the Swift hatchback’s platform. Maruti has basically elongated the Swift hatchbacks front bumper more emphasized and elaborate to get the bigger sized Dzire sedan. However, the core shape and the design elements are essentially the same. Thus, if the Swift gets a refresh, it is basically very easy for Maruti to offer the same for Desire.
Then again, if the Maruti Suzuki Swift gets to have Day Time Running Lights and some snazzy new design for the allow wheels apart from a bit of work on some of the more exterior design features, the same can make way into the Swift Dzire as well.
Till now there have been no official announcements from Maruti Suzuki that the company is going to give a facelift to either Swift or Dzire, but we are hopeful about it as the company has been offering some awesome special edition models to draw more customers recently. As the market conditions haven’t improved and Maruti keeps on suffering declined sales, it is expected that the market leader will soon come up with the updated models of its bestselling cars.
Just like the Swift, the Swift Dzire has been the bestselling model in its segment. The second gen sub-4 meter Dzire recently broke all records by overtaking the decade long top selling car in India, Maruti Alto in May, 2013.
However, this highest selling sedan’s sales have been dampened with the rising popularity of the April launched Honda Amaze compact sedan. Maruti quickly launched the special edition Dzire Regal to counteract the Amaze’s advent, but the company surely knows that a more serious facelift is required soon.
