The Chinese market still gets the previous generation model of the admired Suzuki Swift on sell much like many other good old models that have been discontinued in other global car markets. Now, as per the recent reports a new revamped version of the old Suzuki Swift has been spied on, which is believed to be the special edition model to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Swift in the Chinese car market.
Yes, the Suzuki Swift is going to complete 20 years in China and this is the previous generation model of the car, that was also known as the Suzuki Cultus or the Maruti Suzuki 1000 in other international car markets including India. This good old Suzuki Swift hatchback is worthy and competent in every possible way and thus still appreciated in the car market of China.
Coming back to the spied on special edition model of the Swift, the car flaunts an attractive exterior design that are all apparently the result of the custom aftermarket alterations, and which should appeal and attract the consumers. The Suzuki Swift gets a new red body paint that is complemented by a contrasting white colored roof. The hatchback also gets black skirting, while its front fascia is enhanced with a bumper that gets more detailing and attractive features as compared to that of the ongoing model. The special edition car’s fog light enclosures are also emphasized with sporty white inserts.
The side panels of the Suzuki Swift are kept the same, with just the addition of two tone alloy wheels as well as the “20th Anniversary” label pasted on one of the C-pillars of the car. On the back side of the car gets a roof mounted spoiler as well as an altered bumper with white accented style elements that will go with the white fog light enclosures.
The special edition Suzuki Swift that would mark its 20th anniversary in China was apparently spied only on the exterior and no details are available about the interiors of the car. But of course, this special edition model is expected to get new and sporty features on the inside as well to go with the new attractive exterior style elements.
The alterations however are only skin deep, as all the modifications are mainly cosmetic. Under its hood, the Suzuki Swift is going to be driven by the very same 1.5 liter petrol motor that runs the existing version of the vehicles. The engine delivers a maximum power of 102bhp and it is mated with a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox.
The Suzuki Swift has been a very popular hatchback in the car market of China and the appreciation of the consumers has ensured the model’s existence in the market for so long. The Japanese car major thus has no plans to discontinue this model as of now. The Swift’s 20th anniversary special edition will go on sale towards the end of the current year and will be available in limited numbers.
