As Suzuki is known for its innovative and high performance models in the global auto market, the company is bracing up with the unveiling process of yet another premium passenger vehicle. According to the reports, Suzuki is preparing to showcase its C-Segment crossover that is based on the S-Cross concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2013 that is going to take place towards the beginning of March.
Suzuki’s this new S-Cross concept when revealed in its production version will hold the position above the SX4 crossover and below the Grand Vitara SUV when considered in terms of pricing and technological specifications. The Japanese auto giant, Suzuki has recently released a teaser which reveals the actual production version of the S-Cross crossover where it is shown as driving through white snow after which it glides across a beach and then finally goes on to the a whale of a time in the real crossover territory, the city streets.
When Maruti Suzuki India, the Indian subsidiary of Suzuki corporation Japan, decides to launch S-Cross in India, it can be expected to have a very competitive pricing as a way to make it lock horns with its rivals in the like of the Mahindra XUV500, the Nissan Qashqai, among the other possible competitors of this brand new S-Cross.
As for the under the hood specifications, though not much in detail is known, it can be well expected that the new S-Cross’s variants would probably make use of a 2 liter petrol engine and a 1.9 Liter Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine. As for its looks, we can have a more clear vision from the video teaser that the production version of the S-Cross crossover will have few very stylish and eye-catching features. The two very prominent features that can be noticed are that firstly, its headlights get the standard clear lens treatment and secondly, the LED day time running lamps are positioned at the bottom of the headlights instead of being on the front bumper.
This new S-Cross concept car which is supposed to be a 5 seater, However, does not have any chances of hitting the Indian roads in the near future owing to the fact that Maruti Suzuki does have a hard time selling the C-Segment class and higher variants in the Indian car market. In India, Maruti Suzuki holds the topmost position in the auto market, and all that being the leader in just the compact hatchback segment. Nevertheless, given the growth of the SUV market in India, Maruti Suzuki is contemplating to enter SUV market with the XA-Alpha concept hitting production sometime in 2014.
The Suzuki S-Cross in the meantime is expected to go for production in the next few months time as Suzuki is bringing the production version to the Geneva Motor Show. As the Geneva Motor Show is a great platform to witness all the innovative and new models from the auto giants across the world, March 2013 is going to be exciting for the auto enthusiasts.
