Maruti has confirmed the launch of a robust looking new compact SUV based on the XA-Alpha concept. The car was first revealed at the 2012 Auto Expo and is expected to go on sale between 2014 and 2015. The car will be reasonably priced considering its massive size between Rs 7-9 lakhs range. The car for its stunning appearance and size is expected to become the next generation gypsy.
Maruti Suzuki XA-Alpha concept four-metered compact vehicle is likely to be the SUV sibling of the very successful Ertiga MPV in the India-Japanese automakers category. This magnificent car will compete with stiff counterparts of Renault Duster, Mahindra Quanto, Ford EcoSport and some of the mini SUV’s of Tata with its Aria Compact SUV and other manufacturers who are designing it. Maruti has announced the launch of another car called Grand Vitara in 2016 which will be designed based on Kizashi’s platform. The stylish compact car will be engineered with a very powerful 1.2 Liter K-Series petrol and 1.3 Liter turbo diesel engine.
The XA-Alpha concept might overtake the next generation Suzuki Jimny and might be exported to global markets as an entry level SUV. To preserve the reasonable cost the XA-Alpha is likely to arrive in a front wheel drive layout with the only option of all wheel drive. The interior of car is expected to have amazing polished interiors and is a five seater. The car is designed with an extremely powerful engine which would easily glide through rough terrains and narrow roads.
From the exterior the car imitates an ideal sports car which any car sport fan would dream of owning. This car is a representation of Maruti’s creative engineering team with a neat stream lined exterior. If the car is expected to be a sibling of Ertiga, then it would surely gather a massive crowd at the showroom when launched.
